I don’t think I eat the healthiest or always make the right choices, but there are some things I do on a daily basis that I believe keep my body slim. They are all easy changes I have recently made and they have made quite the difference.
First and foremost, if you know me, I only drink water, apple juice, and lemonade. Its mostly water though, all the time. I have about six plus cups of water a day, one cup of apple juice a day, and lemonade as a treat every once in a while. I could rant and rant about how bad soda is for you. I know people like the taste or need the caffeine, drink tea or coffee. Just don’t drink soda. Don’t fall for diet zero calorie soda, its way worse for you, calories aren’t everything. I found drinking water keeps you slim, detoxed, and healthier. I would never go back.
Stop going out to eat. Restaurant food is so much worse for you than cooking at home, even things such as salads, wraps, and other so called healthy food. I will say I do go out to eat sometimes, but its only every once in awhile. I used to eat out all the time and I have lost so much weight since I’ve stopped. I know its quick and delicious, but it hurts your body and your wallet.
Satisfy your cravings! I am a salt lover, pretzels, cheezits, you name it. However I do not deprive myself of this. If I did, I would never be able to eat properly because I’d crave salt at every meal. You just need to learn how to do it in moderation. Go grab a handful and walk away, don’t you dare take the whole bag of potato chips. If you like ice cream, scoop it into a smaller bowl, you’ll trick your brain and stomach into believing you’ve had a lot of it.
Eat chicken. Seriously there are so many things you can do with chicken, its so easy and so healthy. Trust me I like my steak and hamburgers, but those are treats for me.
Eggs. They are just like chicken for me, I eat eggs for any meal and even as a snack. Quick, easy, cheap.
Get away from fried food. I love my french fries, chicken fingers, mozzarella sticks, and anything else fried, but there are much better alternatives. I buy chicken breast tenders, bread them, and bake them. I do the same thing with mozzarella string cheese cut in half (delicious by the way).
Eat wheat bread. My parents had to force me into this when I was in high school. However, I cannot even stand white bread anymore. Find the kind you like. I’m not picky but my favorite is Sara Lee 45 calories and delightful whole wheat bread. Its light and yummy.
I won’t preach about vegetables, I cannot stand most vegetables and rarely eat them. If you like them, eat them though, they are amazing for you. I am a fruit lover though. I look forward to snacking on grapes, apples, and strawberries. They truly satisfy my sweet tooth
I have slowly adapted to all of these ways of eating and I would say I feel better on a daily basis. I’m more slim, my body has more energy, and digestive system is thanking me, I can tell. It doesn’t feel like a diet, it tastes delcious!
